Call for Applications: PhD Workshop in South Asian Studies

Eligibility
Applicants must currently be enrolled in a doctoral programme. Preference will be given to PhD candidates in their second year or beyond.
The workshop welcomes proposals from all disciplines within the humanities and social sciences, provided the research focuses on South Asia.
Please note that selected participants will be required to obtain membership in the European Association for South Asian Studies (€20 for students). Further details are available via EASAS Membership.
Funding and Logistics
Participants are expected to cover their own travel expenses.
Up to five fellowships will be offered to support accommodation costs for a maximum of three nights at the campus residency. Priority for these fellowships will be given to students residing in South Asia. Applications for the fellowships are included within the main application form.
Application Procedure
Applicants are required to submit a single PDF document containing the following materials:
1) Full name and institutional affiliation;
2) A chapter and/or prospectus of the PhD thesis, accompanied by five keywords;
3) Curriculum Vitae (CV);
4) An official enrolment letter or certification confirming current PhD student status;
5) Academic transcript.
Applications must be submitted through the designated application form. The application deadline is 31 May 2026.
The local selection committee will review submissions and notify applicants individually regarding the outcome of their application.
