Formatting and Referencing Guidelines

The center follows a concise, analytical, and professionally structured writing format suitable for academic, policy, and geopolitical risk analysis.

FORMATTING GUIDELINES

  • Submissions must be written in clear, formal, and professional English.
  • SSCIRRA follows standard American English spelling and style conventions.
  • Analytical, policy-centric, and evidence-based writing is strongly encouraged.

SSCIRRA follows an embedded hyperlink referencing system instead of traditional footnotes or endnotes.

AI Use Policy

The Sir Syed Center of International Relations & Risk Analysis (SSCIRRA) adopts a transparent, responsible, and human-centered approach toward the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in research, analysis, writing, and publication.

PERMITTED USE OF AI

AI tools may be used solely for:

Preliminary research and information gathering support
Organizing, parsing, or structuring complex datasets
Processing analytical, numerical, or structured data sets
Grammar correction, style alignment, language refinement, and editorial assistance
Formatting, transcription, and manual workflow support

RESTRICTED USE

AI tools must not be used to:

Generate core hypotheses, arguments, analytical judgments, or final conclusions without active human intellectual contribution
Fabricate or hallucinate sources, academic citations, quotations, or data
Produce misleading, plagiarized, or synthesized information
Replace independent human scientific analysis and ultimate editorial responsibility

DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENT

Contributors are required to disclose fully whether AI models or computational tools were used in the drafting, translation, or preparation of manuscripts, identifying the specific tools and scope where applicable.

Originality and Editorial Standards

All submissions must remain under absolute human oversight and editorial responsibility. SSCIRRA maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding academic dishonesty, double-submissions, and plagiarism.

Submissions Screening Policy

All drafts undergo thorough editorial and academic peer-review. To verify uniqueness, submissions are screened using professional anti-plagiarism programs, including Turnitin.

Contributors are solely responsible for ensuring the absolute factual accuracy, historical authenticity, and research integrity of their submitted work.

SSCIRRA retains the full editorial right to adjust, format, shorten, or refine articles for grammar, house style, referencing consistency, and structural clarity prior to final publication.

The Center holds the absolute right to reject or immediately withdraw any published submissions found in violation of this peer-integrity code.
